A Section Hand Attempt, to Commit a Ter-
rlble Crime.
About three weeks ago as the Sam
passenger train, So. 1 west bound, leav-
ing Americus at tj p. m., was on its way
to Omaha, the engine ran into a new
cross-tie that had been placed across the
track about one-quarter of a mile west
of Lumpkin.
The tie came very near tearing the en
gine all to pieces, but it was removed
and the engine started again. When
about two or three hundred yards from
where the train had run into the first
one, two more ties were discovered on
the track.
The case was placed in the hands of
Detective Ike Gimbel of the Cheatham
Detective Bureau of Montgomery, and
he at once went to work, and after two
weeks’ careful investigation, laid the
guilt on one Abe Burrows, alias Geita,
section hand on the S. A. M. railway,
Mr. Gimbel afterwards let Sheriff
Holder know of his mission in Lumpkin,
and they decided to arrest Abe on
what information had alreapy been ob
tained. A search was made last Friday
for Abe, but the bird had rtown and he
could not be found as it was getting to
hot for him.
But the officers discovered, that night,
that Abe had gone to Americus. Deteo
tlve Gimble got a good description of
Abe “alias" Geits and boarded the next
train for Americus himself. Ho had not
been in tho city long before ho had his
prisoner in the Sumter county jail and
sent Sheriff Holder a telegram to come
after his man.
Abe will be tried by the court at
Lumpkin on Monday morning and pos-
sitive proof for his conviction is assured,
Detective Gimble and Sheriff Holder
deserve great praise for their good work
in this case.

That “Tired Feeling.”
The newspapers arc having a good
deal of fun nowadays over that “tired
feeling," so much spoken of in medical
advertisements, in connection with the
ill-health of females. It may bo a source
of hilarity to witty paragraphers, but
not so to suffering women, who, by over
work, and a disregard of the laws of
health, have lapsed Into a condition
bordering on invalidism. What most
women need is to be relieved of some of
the slavish work that is piled on them,
and a free, but judicious use of strength
ening tonics, such as P. P. P. (l’rickley
Ash, Poke Root and Potassium), the
greatest blood purifier and invigorator
'n use. Superb as a builder up of wo
men, bringing back lost energy to the
body, and color to faded cheeks, restor
ing the appetite, and thus renewing in
her that hearty vitality long lost. P. P.
P. cures all blood diseases, such as
Rheumatism, Syphilis, Gout, Scrofula,
and all ulcerous affections, even van
quishing that melancholy enemy of man,
Dyspepsia. All druggists sell it.

You know the old adage “Goods
well bought are half sold.” When
we buy staples—we look for the
best qualities obtainable—when we
buy specialties, we look not alone
for quality, bat for the effects that
the finest fancies and the latest
fads demand. In addition to this
we always look for the lowest price
that factories will give, and the
best of it is, we don’t stop looking
until we get there on all three
points—quality, style and price.

Its not mnch gossip to tell yon
that when this new Itock began to
