6 THE AMERICUS WEEKLY TIMES-RECOh DER: FRIDAY. OCTOBER 2, 1891. RAILWAY BOYCOTT BILL Introduced in the House—Railroads and Banks To Be Itegulated. carrwwft m< Shut the door against disease. Danger ee>m£s oft- enest through impure blood. Keep your blood in order, and you keep in health. For this, nothing equals Dr. Pierce’s Golden Medical Discov ery. It invigorates the liver, puri fies and enriches the blood, and rouses every organ into healthy ac tion. By this means it cures. Ev ery part of the system feels its saving influence. Dyspepsia, Indi gestion, Biliousness, Scrofulous, Skin and Scalp Diseases — even Consumption (or Lung-scrofula) in its earlier stages, all viold to it. It’s the only Liver, Blood and Lung Remedy that’s guaranteed to bene fit or cure, or the money is re funded. Trying terms to sell on —but it’s a medicine that can carry them out. “ Golden Medical Discovery ” contains no alcohol to inebriate, and no syrup or sugar to derange digestion. It’s a concentrated vegetable ex tract ; put up in large bottles; pleasant to the taste, and equally good for adults or children. This is the way with the Ball corset: if you want ease and shapeliness, you buy it—but you don’t keep it unless you like it. After two or three weeks’ wear, you can return it and have your money. Comfort isn’t all of It though. Soft Eyelets, and “bones” that can’t break or kink—Ball’s corsets have both of these. For sale by GEO. D. WHEATLEY. r « ATTENTION Old Nick Whiskey .s the best and is noted for its age and purity, having been made on the same plantation over 123 years without a rival as we constantly keep four year old RYE AND CORN on hand—ship any quantity, so write for price-list. Old Nick Whiskey Co., Yadkin Co. PANTHER CREEK. N. C. Atlanta, Ga., September 25.—What Is known as the boycott bill was intro duced this morning by Mr. Iioifeuillet of Bibb. This bill seeks to prevent unjust dis crimination on the part of any railroad operated within or partly within this state, against any other railroad com pany within this state. It was referred to the railroad committee, and is ex pected to come up for final action at an early date. This is an important meas ure and has aroused considerable inter est. The bill by Mr, Harris of C'atoosa to provide for the election of the railroad commissioners by the people and to re duce their salaries to #2,000 per year, raised, as was expected, considerable discussion. Mr. Berner of Monroe made a ringing speech against the bill; he did not be lieve in bringing the railroad commis sion into politics, “for,” said he, “if you place this commission out of the hands of the governor and give the rail road corporations an opportunity to tako part in the election of this commission, you would find that every agent, every employe of these companies would Lake part in the election of these commis sioners.” Mr. Fleming spoke against the bill. He said it would not be a question of honesty on the part of the voters, but a question of deception. Mr. Lewis of Hancock spoke in favor of the bill. He believed it would be easier to bribe one or two men than it would the voters of Georgia Mr. Wheeler of Walker was in favor of It. A motion to Indefinitely postpone the bill prevailed, and the bill was lost. The bill by Mr. Iioifeuillet of Bibb to regulate banks was taken up and passed, This is recognized as ono of the most important measures that the house has disposed of. It provides that no bank shall loan one person more than 10 per cent of its capital unless such loan is secured by unquestionable collateral. It further provides that all banks shall publish a quarterly statement of their respective conditions in one or more of the public gazettes. for Infants and Children. *‘Castorlg s soweUadapte<rtochil< >at*at I recommend it as superior to any prescription known to n? s.” H.
