Why do the people with one voice say that D. B. Hill keeps the
best goods r
BECAUSE
They h?ve used our furniture and it never cracked, blistered or fell down; used our crock
e-y, china and glassware, and found it as represented; lit our lamps and had good-light;
used our silverware and sounded its praise ; bought our clocks and never got left; bought
our window-shades when they didn’t need them ; bought curtain poles for themselves and
poor kin because they were so cheap; used our knives and forks and praised the butcher ;
bought our pictures and got credit for lots of good taste ; hung our wall paper and didn’t
know the old house.
Our stock of Royal Worcester, Doulton and Dresden China, Hunga
rian, Faience aud other holiday goods will repay your inspection.
Coffins, Caskets, Burial Robes i Suits,
BURIAL SLIPPERS AND GLOVES.
This branch of our business is replete with all that is
new and RELIABLE. Every improvement has our pa
tronage. Nothing escapes us.

Atlanta, Ga , October 3.—A tele
phone message to the Journal from
Fairburn at 2:15 o'clock this afternoon,
tells of a horrible tragedy which occur
red only a few minutes before that
time.
Joseph Ximpio, an old and highly res
pected citizen of tho little town, was
shot and almost instantly killed by his
oldert son, St. John Ximmo.
The shooting was the result of a fam
ily quarrel. It appears that St. John
was treating the younger children
roughly. The father reproved him, a
quarrel ensued, which was ended by the
son drawing a pistol and putting a bullet
straight through his aged father’s
heart.
He was promptly arrested and is now
safely lodged in the county jail. The
little village is greatly excited over tho
tragedy, and on all sides tho people
are gathered in groups and discussing it.
Tho Nimrao family is a large one. St.
John is the oldest of several children.
Doth he and his father have followed the
trade of harness makers. The old man
was a very expert harness-worker, and
was employed in tho factory of Me
Curry Inman & Co.
St. John is a married man, but has the
reputation of being an idle, Indigent
fellow, who cares very little about
word.
He has had nothing whatever as yet
to say about the killing.

OPINION OF II. S. MINISTER SCRUGGS.
Mit. A. K. Hawkks—Dear Sir: Per
mit me to join in the expressions of
admiration for your wonderful eye
glasses, that you have received from the
highest authorities. Where the finest
material is combined with such perfect
construction, tho combination is bound
to produce a softness and clearness of
vision unequaled by any other glasses.
All strain is removed from the eyes of
the wearer, which improve till their
strength of sight becomes perfect. Very
truly yours,
William L. Scruggs,
United States Minister to Venezuela,
