t**crats against-the Alliance, all past dif
ferences are forgotten, and enmities of a
thud of a century, even fanned by civil
war, are forgotten in mutual hatred of a
struggling people. We see Bourbon
Democrats and radical Republicans
clasping hands across the chasm of sec
tional hate, and working band in band,
iu order to defeat the Alliance and re-eu-
slave the farmers.
“And we also see so-called Demo
cratic (?) organs iu Georgia crowing over
the victories (?) their party has won, and
exulting over the downfall (?) of the Al
liance; and yet not one of these papers
h is had the self-respect, manhood and
f lirness to express and condemu the
unholy and infamous coalitions their
parly has formed with Republicans.
* Brother Alliancemen, what dees this
show? Why it shows that the Demo
cratic press of Georgia are con-
doners of and sympathizers with this
villainous conspiracy, and that they
h id rather see the Republican party
triumph than the people! Secretly they
gl«»at over the degrading ends to which
their party has stooped to overthrow
and discourage the alliance movement,
and if it becomes necessary to defeat us
they will join hands with the Republi
cans in Georgia iu 1802.
“After reading this story of shame
from Kansas, do you now feel a pride in
being called a Democrat? Study that
record, and then tell us what Is the dif
ference between the two old parties?
The Democrats have joined forces with
the Republicans to defeat tho Alliance,
and lost sight of the issues that divided
them so long. The truth is, that the
leaders of both parties have become so
vile and corrupt, and are so linked to
gether by selllshness and greed, that it
will take a lirst-class political chemist
to separate them.
‘ If you call that crowd of political
amalgamators iu Kansas, and the high-
kickers who brought out Dr. Felton,
Democrats—in the language of Ben Ilill,
if wo ever were a Democrat wo didn't
m«*au to be!”
