arrested charged with forcibly kitting

geant Bob Ozburn, one of the moat
popular and pluckiest men on the force.

yesterday afternoon.

church at Bluff Creek when the storm
overtook them. He was terribly fright
ened and died in a few minutes.

from a reliable source that Mr. Starr has
resigned the management of the Satan
nah Brewery Company and will in a very
few days assume control of the main
stem of the Central railroad.
Supt. H. R. Dill, who now oocuplea
the position, will nfecaaari’.y I* sup
planted.
Mr. Starr it au old and experienced
railroad mau and served for a long time
in the employ of the Richmond and Dan
ville, and rote from the foot of the lad
der to position* of trust snd responsi
bility.
When the Richmond and Danville
leased the Central, Mr. Starr wat super
intendent of tho main stem and did not
hesitate to express Ids disapproval of
the change.
He wat iptoted at saying that the
Richmond and Danville had to borrow
the money with which to pay off, and
for thii assertion hit resignation waa
asked for by the Richmond and Danville
authorities.
Since then Mr. Starr has been manager
of the Savannah Brewing Company at a
splendid salary.

will probably be adopted:
The carriers will take up mail before
•I o'clock each morning, thus getting It
in time for the Sam and for Columbna.
At 7 o'clock they will take their routes
and delivar mall received during the
night. At 11 o*clock they will gather
mail for the north and south. As early
at possible, by a little after 2 o’clock,
mail from the unrtb and touth will be
delivered, and then about 5210 o'clock
the laat gathering will be nude.

agent of the Central railroad, to-day
handed in Ida resignation, la accordance
with a request from Traffic Manager
Shellman.

Whitehead's office.
The poaltion of superintendent of mo

It la reported on good authority that a
change Is shortly to take place among,
the Central railroad superintendent*.-
The division headquarters are to be re-
established at Columbus, and Supt. Dan
Curran, now at Macon, will again resame
charge there.
Supt B. C. Epperson, of the Carolina
division with headquarters at Augusta,
will succeed Supt, Curran at Macon, and
T. S. Molt*, now trainmaster of thn
Southwestern division at Macon, and
formerly superintendent of the Savannah
and Atlantic division of the Central at
Savannah, will tucced Mr. Epperson at
Augusta as superintendent of th* Caro
lina division.
Mr. S. H. Hardwick, who baa been
tilling the office of general paaaanger
agent of the Central railroad tinea tha
separation of the Central and the Dan
ville, left for Richmond. He was ac
companied by bis little daughter, Algte,
and bit mother, Mrs. S. E. Hardwick.
Mr. Hardwick has arranged the affaire
of his office, preparatory to tuning it
over to bit successor, Mr. W. A. Wln
burn, and will probably not return to
savannah.
