mendation on the subject was spiced
with strong condemnations.

great deal of the spiciest kind of talk.
And If signs count for anything, there
is going to be some spicy official action
taken.
The county board of education think
they have not been treated right. In
fact, they are aura they have not. They
havn't had a meeting since the grand
jury presentments were published, but
they are going to meet today or tomor
row, aad they are going to express them
selves on the subject.
The members of this board will not
state what they are going to do, bnt it is
generally understood that In the first
place they are not going to follow the
reeomendation of the grand jury.
Then It is said they are going to (bow
that a majoilty of the grand juror* have
stated that they did not carefully exam
ine the hooka, and It la also claimed that
aoms of that body have said since the
presentments were made that they did
not know what books were lo use In the
county. Then there are many other
little detaile that tb* board will mention

from being so widely known as other

a magnificent piece of property as the

Buena Vista to determine in what man
ner the candidates for the different
state and county offices shall be (elected

government in tbe hands of the demo
cratic party.
Tlie meeting was not only large and
enthusiastic, but was made up of mate

County to tire democrats this fall may

gone forth that the third party would
rule Marlon county evidently did aoteet
graciously ou the faces of the earnest

bled today to announce themselves. As

ces. The resolution further sets forth
