Thin morning just as the city clock
struck six, Mrs. Virginia P. Allen ami
Mr. Barnwell K. Heck were married by
Rev. Iir. McDonald.
The ceremony occurred in the parlors
of the Ballard House on Peachtree
street.]
Very little information could be gained
as to who the couple are, but the occu
pants of tlio house say that Mrs. Allen
seemed to be about 50 years old and is
from Katonton, Georgia
Mr. Hock is about twenty-five years
old and lives at some point in Sonth Car
olina.
A few minutes after the ceremony was
performed the happy couple left the
Ballard House hut would not state where

A Big Rattler.
Mr. T. K. G.ifiin, of the 2Sth district,
this county, killed a big rattle snake the
other day in his chicken yard. The
snake hail evidently come for chicken
meat, and was preparing to get in his
work when discovered. It was quickly
killed and was found to be five feet six
inches in length and bad twelve rattles
and a button.
The skin was stufTed and now bangs
in front of W. I>. Scott’s store in Pres
ton.
