The best feature of the offering, aside from the sensational price, is the
broad variety from which to choose almost every width from 3 to 9 inches wide
making it an offering to meet every need as well as every taste. There can be
no disappointments among such a broad collection and every yard is new this

HOW TIMES HAVE CHANGED.
There were 2,431 train accidents iu
the United States in 1890 against 2,228
in 2808. The killed numbered 008 and
the injured 2,001.
There does not appear in Ohio to be
any noticeable scramble for the first
appointment as minister to China, says
the Savannah Press.
The Philadelphia Bulletin thinks
that ice tongs instead of the head of an
Indian chief should be Tammany’s
badge at Kansas Citv.
Like Senator Hoar and his party, the
boxers ami the Chine?e regulars seem
to have sunk their differences in a
union against the allies.
Senator Jones talks sensibly. Reaf-
firm the Chicago platform and stop
there. It is living issues, not dead
the country is interested in.
Professor Harnock, a Berlin theolo
gian, has come forward with the star
tling theory that the Epistle to the
Romans Mas written by n woman,

For tbe first time since lTID the stars

territory and an enslaved people, the

McKinleyism.
Christianity like auj thiugelso of val

but nevertheless it remains u most pre
cious, refining, and comforting experi
ence to its believers.
Editor Stovall thinks the young wo
men missionaries in Chinn have had as
hard a time as did the young women in
St. Louis who dared ride on the street
cars during the strike.
The war iu South Africa has dwin
dled down to n curious guerrilla con
flict which may possibly be prolonged
until the Boers’supply of war munition
shall have been exhausted.
Connections iu the Kansas City con
vention hall will be so close that the
gavel of the presiding officer will take
up the hammering 1 right where the
carpenter’s hammer leaves off today.
It is suggested that Mr. McKinley
will have to patch the Republican plat
form before he can consistently stand
upon it As the document reads there
is at least a pretense of deferences to
the authority of the Constitution,
whereas imperialism as held by Me.
completely ignores it.
The Nashville American notes the
fact that Roosevelt is sending out cam
paign literature early. He writes to
a Virginia gentleman that his mother
was a Georgian and his two maternal
ancles were in the Confederate navy,

We told of them last week. Our haste is your opportunity. People will
expect us to have this line of goods all the season, but we prefer to sell them

reflect nothing upon the character of the goods. There’s less than five hun
