AMERICUS, GA., OCT. 26. 1900
The Georgia law makers convened
yesterday. No one, no, not even our
Father in Heaven knoweth what they
intend to do, or will do.
Another powerful Bryan recruit is
Jndson Harmon, Attorney General in
the Cleveland Cabinet, and one of the
ablest and best-known lawyers in the
Middlo West. The band wagon Is get
ting comfortably filled.
Russia is said to be desperately bard
ap for money and is trying to make
another borrow in the United States.
The Russian government ought to take
a tip from Haona and encourage a few
trusts that could always be touched in
an emergency,
The democrats everywhere shonld
particularly look after the congress
ional districts. If Mr. Bryan should
be defeated a democratic house might
save the country. In fact, the con
gTessional elections wero never of more
importance than now, whether Mr.
Bryan wins or loses.

We will place on sale a lot of 150 sample suits of Men’s Clothing, bought by us for about half their worth. Of course
you know what sample suits are—no maker, however conscientious, ever makes the stock quite as fine as the sam
ples, for the samples represent the very best that the factory is capable of producing.
Ifs a Great Chance—Don’t Fall to Take Advantage ot It.
Sample suits Men’s Clothing worth $6, $7.50, $8, $9 and $10, Choice for $4.75 per suit.
The death of John Sherman removes
one of the formost and ablest states
men of this decade. Ho was a man of
one will and when he thought he was
right nothing could scare him from his
fine of duty. He was a man of the old
school, honest and ever trne to the
American ltepublie which had so often
honored him.
THE BUTT Or A CITIZEN.
In his speech in Brooklyn some days
ago Mr. Hill said: “I mako no apol
ogy to anyono for my activity in this
campaign. It is sufficient that some
leading principles in which a citizen
believes aro advocated by the party
with wbioh ho is associated to justify
kis support of that party regardlers
of its attitude on subordinate questions
which he may or may not approve."
And Mr. Hill is not called upou to
make an apology for his course. When
the safety of the State is imperiled all
ether difl'ereuces should sink into in
lignificance. He is a poor sort of
patriot who places personal interests
or indiv dual prejudice above the safe
ty of the Republic and abstains trom
doing what his conscience tells him is
the right thing to do. The issues in
tulved in this campaign are more mo
mentons than any the people if this
country have ever beeu called upon to
decide and the citizen, especially the
Southern citizen, who sulks at this
crisis, who fails to cast his vote for Mr.
Bryan and Democratic candidate fur
Congress in his district, is not only
basely recreant to his party but to his
aoantry as well.
