not too much cotton.
Commissioner of Agriculture O. it,
Stevens says that the cotton acreage
Be jt year will not be any larg.r than
,l,at planted this year. “The talk,”
said lie, "about planting moro cotton
nex t year is rather premature. I am
snr e the number of acres planted next
, ear will be no larger than this year.
IUe farmers have at last realized that
fle smaller the crop planted the higher
fle price. This yoar is a fair instance
that a small crop bVings a higher price.
Diversified crops are beginning to tell.
I have just returned from Sonth Geor-
pia and 1 find the farmers are planting
large quantities of wheat, more than
ever before. This I regard as a good
8r n, for it shows that the farmers re-
cognizo the fact that they can raise
afloat hero as cheaper, and if anything
cheaper, than they can buy the flour.
The cotton in Georgia has been nearly
all [ileKcd, and now there are but a few
hundred bales left in the fields.”

There is no poison so highly contagious,
so deceptive and so destructive. Don’t be
too sure you are cured because all external
signs of the disease have disappeared, and
the doctor says you are well. Many per
