BISHOP TURNER HAS RESIGNED
Trouble in the College of Colored
Methodists.
Owing to a disagreement in the
oollege of Atrican Methodist Episoopal
bishops, Bishop H. M, Turner, pres
ident of the oollege, has tendered his
resignation , to the college. Bishop
Tamer is doubtless the most influen
tisl man in the African Methodist Epis
copal church and his resignation will
doubtless cahse a great stir. It is
doubtful if it will be . accepted. The
trouble leading up.to the resignation
was not due to a difference of the sev
eral churches in the bishop’s district,
bnt to dissatisfaction in the, college,
certain bishops, it is understood, ob
jeoting to assignments that had been
given them.
