Six Days of Opportunity 1
A Grand Trading Chance 1
N (
OT a special offering this time of a few
underpriced lots, but a grand aggrega
tion of Good Reliable Merchandise. It’s the
stores stock-reducing time. A time when we
pay no heed whatever to loss of profit. A time
when every item of surplus goods in every de
partment is priced with the one object of clos
ing lots out at the shortest possible notice. Its
a good trading time for our buying public; a
time when dollars do almost double duty. Just
six days, remember; and Six Days only—does
this sale continue, and they will prove to be the
biggest Six Days selling in the history of our
business. Some of the the bargains are exploit
ed here; but there are hundreds of others as
good, perhaps better, you will think, which for
want of space cannot be advertised.
We invite you to come during this sale
week. Come as early as possible, and come
armed with the cash. IT WILL PAY YOU.
WILL PAY YOU WELL.
Judge Welborn F. Clarke is an ap
plicant for appointment by Judge Em
ory Speer, of the United States court,
as referee in bankruptcy for this dis
trict to succeed former referee Shelby
Myrick, who resigned that position
yesterday to accept that of city re
corder of Savannah.
JnUge Clarke’s numerous friends in
Amoricus and throughout the district
would be greatly pleased should Judge
Speer appoint him.
He is one of the prominent members
of the Americus bar and an attorney of
great ability. With his knowledge of
the low and long experience as a practi
tioner he is well qualified for the duties
of this responsible position.
Ho haB the unqualified endorsement
of nearly the entire local bar besides
that of attorneys in other counties of
the district. There may be other as
pirants for the position, but the friends
of Judge Clarke feels sure that he is
the man for the place.
Judge Speer has not yet intimated
whom he will appoint to this office.

Glorious News.
Comes from Dr. D. B. Cargile of
Washita, I. T. He writes: “Four
bottles of Electrio Bitters has cured
Mrs. Brewer of scrofula, wbion nad
caused her great satferlng for years'
Tei..ble coreB would break out on her
head and face and the bei-t doctors
could give no help but her cure is com

This showB what thousands have
proved,—that Electrio Bitters is the
best blood purifier known. It’s the
supreme remedy for eozema, tetter, salt

It stimulates liver, kidneys and bowels,

PRORARLY ANOTHER
MILITARY COMPANY
Movement is Started to Organize One
Here.
AMERICUS MIGHT SUSTAIN TWO
While Americus has alreadv one of
the best military companies in Geor
gia-well officered, well equipped and
well drilled, the prospect for organi
zation of a second company here is
quite flattering. It was learned yes
terday that a number of young men
are quietly working to that end and
with such success that already they
have secured the promise of twenty-
five men to enliBt in the new company.
It is said also that a popular young
man, formerly in the service of Uncle
Sam, will be elected captain of the
company in the event of its organiza
tion. For, many years the gallant
Light Infaibtry has been the pride of
Americas and will ever be, and some
think it would be the part of wisdom
to coneontrate every energy upon it
and make it even greater and stronger
rather than attempt to organize anoth
er company. However, it is argued
that Albany and other towns smaller
than Americas have two companies,
and that the friendly rivalry between
them keeps np interest in military af
fairs. If the new company is organ
ized we will wish it every success and
will contribute our part thereto.
Now In Full Blast
Our annual before stock-taking sale is now in full
blast. These sales have always been marked by success,
and we don’t intend to have this one lag behind in point of
profit to you and interest for us. This is unquestionably
one of the most important, cut price sa'es we ever held, and it
will pay you to investigate, as prices are cut lower than ever
before in the history ot our business.
In addition to the items mentioned belo w, we have gone
through and thrown out other items.—notably among
which are our entire bne of ready made silk and flannel
waists, which we clear out at just a trifle over half-price.
