Scores of Loiterers In Americas Who
So Nothing-
Americas, like many other cities in
Georgia, is thickly infested with a class
of vagabonds who walk the streets here
in idleness, day and night, and who
positively refuse to work for one at
any price.
Look on the corners today and yon
Will see them loitering there.
Of course there are some white
“sports,” hat nineteen-twentieths of
the idle class are negroes, who do not
want work of any kind.
As evidence of this, a business man
being short of help a day or two ago,
accosted several of these black “po
sers,” offering steady work at a dollar
a day. Each refused, saying that he
“didn't want a job.”
Thus they will not work in town,
and of course laugh at even the idea of
going to the country.
How do they live? Just go alorg
Lee, Taylor, College or any residence
street tonight between 8 and 3:30,
when the cooks, carrying buckets and
bnndles, start home and are joined by
these "escorts,”
Is there no vagrant law here that
will reach this idle class?

renovated throughout and everything
is being put in shape for the opening,
which will occur early in April. Judge

for fifty years I have been a great suf

remedies advertised for these diseases,
and got no permanent relief. About
one year ago, the disease assuming a
more severe and dangerous form, I be
came very weak, and lost flesh rapidly.
I commenced using Dr. Mozlev's

being carried to a convict came below
here to do time. Firmly chained to
these brutes was a little white boy,
twelve years of age, who was going to
serve a term of twelve months for steal

seem to be phazed at all by the brutal
curses and low jests of the animals ac
companying him and whose compan

certainly needs a reformatory or a
whipping post for boys. They will
never reform in convict camps.

One of the beBt wave to sorve fish is
to broil them on the banks of.the creek

this is how a party of anglers, includ

did at Bowen's mill a day or two ago.
Col. Stallings came home yesterday
and told his hungry friends all abont
it. The fishermen, he says, were faB-

shad, which oro caught in abundance
in the mill stream near tho river,
These were “cooked a kicking" and
served with hot cornbread and coffee.
