For nearly three hoars the fire raged,
beyond ail control.
The flames had their origin In •

Qniokly the fire spread to nearby

Not In years has Amerlone been the

It was in the late hours of the night

walking along Jackson street in the
tenderloin seotion of the oity, stumbled
upon the body of young Mize, lying at
the edge of the sidewalk. Finding
that he was dead, they notified an
officer.
Policemen Barrow, Smith and Al

bolding the yonng men who found the
body, began a rigid investigation.
The faot was soon developed that
the two young men had quarreled on
hour or two previously in the house of
Birdio Walker. She was found attho
honse of another woman near by, and
was detained as a witness before the
coroner, as were the men who found
tho body.

From the Marsh residence the jury

number of witnesses were examined.
Birdie Walker, the young woman at
whose house the young men had met
and quarreled, testified to that effect.
They left about 11 o’olook.she said.and
shortly thereafter she heard a pistol

Later ia the night she left the house
and went to another place to sleep.
She knew nothing of the homloide un

Dr. B. B. Hudson, who was going

Doctors Make a Post Mortem.
Doctors Raines and Prather were di

the bullet entered the right shonldor

heart. The ballet was not definitely
located.
Beyond the testimony of the young

Exonerated Adderton.
After weighing the evidence and re
viewing the ease at length, the ooren-
