Warehouses WereWellnigh Inserted.
Yesterday- never
The bovine and bear eloment in *he
great cotton centres celebrated the I LllctnuISe*
glad new year yesterday, and in the
absence of tho telegraphio market re
ports the local talent likewise took t
holiday and speculated upon prices for
the fntnre.
Scarcely a dozen bales were brongbt
to the Americas warehouses.
In faat, the trath that there is hut
little more to come is rapidly dawning
npon the local bnyera. Farmers here
have marketsd their cotton freely and
not one in ten ;has n bale left in bis
ginbonse.
Up to yesterday, January 1st. the
Americus warehouses had received
total of 25,200 bales. This is probably I
a thousand bales short of the waro- r.ncU
house reoeipts ot this date last year. *-**'■' CcISIl.
