ton hotel, at Illinois avenue and
Board wall;.
A south wind prevailed and
flames weft communicated to the
ray hotel adjoining on the north, and
this was also destroyed, with the Tari
ton hotel.
The fire is reported to have started
5n Brady’s bathhouses on the Board
.walk near Illinois avenue.
In n few minutes it communicated
to Smith's photograph gallery and two
small shops adjoining. Wit.iin 20 min
utes all of these lllmsy structures had
been destroyed and the Tarlton hotel
was In dames. The wind drove tho
blaze toward the Windsor and the I.
ray hotels and these, too. were hooii
mass of (lames.
The Stratford hotel, at Kentucky
avenue and the hoard walk, one block
north of the Tarlton. also caught Are.
These three buildings will be a total
loss. The hotel Berkley, adjoining the
Stratford caught In a few minutes an
.was soon burning fiercely.

out.
The Hotel Bryn Mawr, the Hotel Bid
Grande and the Hotel Mervlne. all on
New York avenue, adjoining the Acad
any of Music, fell victims to the
flames. The Hoard walk was destroy
ed between New York and Illinois ave.

The six men who are supposed to
have been burned to death are two
policemen believed to have been
burled In the ruins of the Berkeley
hotel, two firemen and two musicians,
members of the Koval Italian hand
who are aald to he In the Berkeley.

alleged Arkansas murderer. The gov
ernor has offered a reward of $500 for
Dunn's capture and return to Wichita

ty or parties that aided in his escape.
