ed the lard refinery of Armour A: Co.,

were injured, five of them in a man
ner which will probably cause death
in a short time. The loss of the com
pany is estimated by its officers at
between $750,000 and $900,000, with
all chances in favor of the latter.

Garrard Re-elected.
Columbus. Ga.. May 17.—The grand
Jury yesterday reelected Hon. Louis
F. Garrard a member of the board of
county commissioners of Muscogee
county for another fernt of three years.
Mr. Garrard has been a member of the
hoard for 30 years, since Its establish
ment. and addressed a communication
to the grand jury suggesting that they
elect some one else as Ms successor,
hut in view of his long experience and
ability in the management of the
county's affairs the grand Jury did not
consider his suggestion and re-elected
hint anyhow. He has accepted the of
