It-t evening of one of the prettiest of
cxrly jane weddings when their sister,
Miss Liars Wimberly, end Mr. Gay
V Crittenden, in the presence of quite en
R essemblsge of friends, thns plighted
their troth,
And ne'er did marriage bells ring
forth e happier peel.
The engagement had been ennonoc
ed some time since, and for a month
past the marriage of Miss Wimberly
and Hr. Crittenden had been an occa
sion anticipated with mnob interest
among their numerous friends.
The parlors of the Marshall home
were prettily decorated in palms and
rare plants, while superb June roses in
profusion lent their richness and fra
grance. And it was within this bower
cf beauty that Bar. W. L, Wootten
xeeelved the tows of the young couple.
A delightful wedding menu was serv
ed, after sincere congratulations had
been extended.
The bride is one of Americas’ most
cultured and charming young women,
and linos her debut has been qalte.a
favorite in social circles here. Ur.
Crittenden has resided in Americas
for some time past and is greatly es
teemed both in social and business
oireles.
Mr. and Mrs. Crittenden will make
their borne with Mr. and Mrs. J. T.
Stallings, on Lee street

Marriage of a Well Known Couple
Yesterday Noon-
The marriage at noon yesterday of
Miss Mary Kirkland and Mr. George
G. Richmond was a pretty June wed
ding, the first of several to take place
here daring the current montb. The
rites were solemnized at the home of
Rev. and Mrs. A. Kirkland and wit
nessed by numerom relatives and near
friends of the beautiful bride.
The parlor deooratlons were in white
and green wbile.wbite flowers and an
perb palms were banked in great pro
fusion. Suspended above the alcove
where the bride and groom stood was
a pretty heart-shaped floral design,
wrought in pure white flowers.
The room was illuminated .with
shaded lamps that cast a golden glow
over the whole soene.
At IS o’clock, to the strains of
‘Hearts Wishes” played by Mrs. L.
G. Henderson, the maid of honor,
little Miss Ssllie Durant, entered, be
comingly attired in white and carrying
~ bouquet of pink carnations and ferns.
The best man, Mr. Caleb H. Rich
mond, brother of the groom, entered
end stood opposite the maid of honor.
The bride came in leaning on the arm
of the groom. She was gowned in a
handsome tailored suit of esstor-oolor-
ed cloth wflh a touch of Irish point
lace. She carried a bouquet of bride's
roses and ferns.
Rev, A.’ Kirkland, the bride’s father,
perfomed the ceremony.
After congratulations the guests
were invited into the dining room,
where an elegant limoheon was served.
