of this will come back to Americns.
There wore :l,40) viotimsof theBcheme.
It was an endless chain arrangement.
A lady would get a letter authorizing
her to sell three cherry trees for 40
Csnts. Hho was then told that when
she sold $20 worth of treeB she should
gat $8 for her work. Each person who
bought trees from her was to become
an agent and do the same thing. This
kept the scheme going, and quite
number of people in this section got
into the game. But the cherry trees
did not come after the money had been
sent in. The men who concocted the
scheme have been arrested, prosecuted
and convicted.
