AMERICAN GENERALS
BID ENGLAND ADIEU
Embark For United States at
Southampton.
CROWDS SEE THEM .DEPART.
Sir Thomas Upton Presented Mrs.
Corbin with a Handsome Bouquet of
Orchids—King Asked Generals For
Their Photographs.
London, Oct. 18.—The visit of Gen
erals Corbin and Young to England
was concluded this morning when
they left Waterloo railroad station to
embark on the American line steamci
Philadelphia at Southampton.
A crowd of friends was present la
eluding Sir Thomas Upton, Secretary
Carter, representing Amabassadoi
Choate, Naval Attache Clover, Mili
tary Attache Cassatt
The special salon car reserved tot
the American officers was filled with
the military chiefs, their aides-de-camp
and the ladies of the party. Si!
Thomas Upton presented Mrs. Corbin
with a large box of orchids. General
Young said:
“Tho trouble with English hospital
ity is that they make you feel that
you are doing them a favor to accept
It This Is a little more than wa
could do to take advantage of all the
kindnesses proferretl here. Our stay
was a little longer than we expected,
and now I am looking forward to get
ting back to woj-k at tho war college."
King Edward asked'tho generals tot
their photographs.
One of the mo3t interesting features
of the stay of the generals here was
tho visit which they made at Farm
borough to former Empress Eugenic,
who was delighted to make the ac
quaintance of the Americans. The em
press usually retains strict seclusion
in her quiet country home, and tho
Occasion was r. complete exception.
One of those present said:
' "I have seldom seen such a pictur
esque contrast of the old world and the
new as when the empress Eugenie,
leaning on the arm of General Young,
who towerod above her as she con
ducted the Americans over her resi
dence, pointed out priceless mmntoos
of tho imperial days of France.”
Spent More Than 81,000.
W. W. Bakor, of Plslnvlew, Neb,
writes: "My wife suffered from lung
trouble for fifteen years. She tried a
number of doctors and spent over $1,000
without relief Bhe beoame very low
and lost all hope. A friend reoominend-
ed Foley’s Honey and Tar and, thanks
to this great remedy, It saved her life.
She enjoys batter health than aba baa
known ia the ten years.” Refute sub
stitutes. J. K. Hudson.

needs her to help him meet his bltls.
Forty Years’ Torture.
To bs relieved from a torturing dis
ease after 40 years’ torture might well
cause the gratitude of anyone. That is
what JoWItt’s Wltoh Haxel Salvo did
forO. Haney. Geneva, O. He says:
“DeWItt's Wltoh Hszal Salve oared me
of piles after I had suffered 40 years."
