Tbe residence of Mr. George Stal ling*, several mile* east of Amerlous, was completely destroyed by fire at ao early hour yesterday morning, togeth- with all furniture and other effects in the hones. Mr, and Mrs. Stallings barely es caped with their lives. Tbe fire had already burned its way into tbelr sleeping apartment and was overhead when Mr. Stallings awoke. Tbe family ercaped to tb* yard in their night clother, Mr. Stallings sav ing very little in the way of effeola. Neighbors came quickly to tbe roaoue and the family was soon made comfort able. The fire probably originated in the kitchen and was accidental. Tbe dwelling contained fonr or five rooms and was partly insured, as was tbe furniture, probably for two-thirds value.
