Wo regret .that the County Commit -boners have not seen proper to fellow the recommendations of former Grand Juries in adopting what is known ns the chain-gang system. Wo adopt the alternative rood law of 1D0J and we he- Here onr roads should be graded aud brought to a high standard of excel lence. Good roods would greatly in crease the value of our lands, tho growth of onr population and prosper! ty of all classes of onr people. To this end, this body unanimously recom mend and respectfully urges onr bounty Commissioners to put our mis demeanor convicts at work npon the publio roads of the county under an xperionced road overseer or civil on gineorj that machinery and tools nec- C1 sary for building and keeping im proved roods be purchased and pntin deration at the earUest possible time.
