Atlanta, March 7.—Governor Ter
rell baa sent out to nine of the new
district agricultural schools their first
Installment of the fund arising from
the Inspection of fertilizers, this fund
having been especially appropriated for
their maintenance and support by the
legislature.
Governor Terrell sent (2.000 to each
of the treaaurer sof the nlno schools,
whoso bondR have been filed and ap
proved. No remittance was mode to
the ninth district, on account of the
(act that organization has only just
been completed, nor to the tenth dis
trict. because It was found necessary
first to correct a llitle informality ln
the bond.
A second Installment of a little more
than (2,000 will be sent to each of
these schools later In the year, and
tills will give them something over
(4.000 the first year. This money
will he used principally for furnishing
the buildings.
If tho legislature will omit tho
clause from several small appropria
tions In the genera! appropriations
bill, which requires that they be paid
out of the genera! fund, this will re- 1
suit In giving the new agricultural |
schools a largo amount for malnte- 1
nance next year, and each of the 11 ‘
schools will have about (6,000 from
this fund Is to go Ito the agricultural
schools, and It will no doubt see that
It does so.
