GEORGIA, Webster County: We, the Grand Jury chosen and sworn for the October term of the Superior Court of 1907, beg leave to make the following General Present ments. Through the various committees appointed to examine the books of the various officers of the county, and the poor farm and public roads and buildings and brides, make the following reports: The Ordinary's books we find neat ly and correctly kept with good and sufficient bonds, where bonds are required to be taken. There is no money In said office to be accounted for to the public. SHERIFF'S BOOKS. The books of this office are correct ly kept so far as we are able find through our commute, and prop er entries made as directed by law and good and sufficient bonds taken where bonds are required to be ta ken. \ The Sheriff reports that he has in his hands belonging to the county, the sum of seven dollars. TAX COLLECTORS BOOKS We find that the aggregate value of the property on Digest to be $825,244. Total polls in county 864. TREASURER'S BOOKS. x The Treasurer's books show that there was on hand at April term of court, 1907 $3193.32 April 10th, received from W. H. Clark, T. REPORT ON PAUPER FARM ANl» PAUPERS We find that the public buildings on farm are In fair condition and that there are five inmates to be cared for on farm. 3 whites, and two ne groes; all claim to be well treated and cared for. There appears to be a fair crop made on the farm this year, the sup erintendent reporting that he will make plenty of corn to Bupply the farm another year. ROADS AND BRIDGES We find the public roads in better condition thin usual, also bridges all over the county; though some brid ges are In need of banisters for the protection of passengers. TAX DIGEST For the limited time we had examine same, we find the books cor rectly and legibly kept, except some returns entered in the wrong list and some not entered alphabetically; also we find some property not given in at its market value, which we entered on the digest at proper place, CLERK’S BOOKS... We find the Clerk’s books neatly and correctly kept In accordance with the law and properly Indexed so as to make easy reference thereto. We desire to tender our sincere thanks to his Honor, Judge Little john for the fair and Impartial man ner in which he has presided over this court and for courtesies extend ed this body; and the Hon. HURT IN A RUNAWAY BUT IS IMPROVING Roy Jones, who was severely in jured a day or two ago In a runaway accident near his home. Is still con fined to his room, though the painful injuries Inflicted will not prove ser ious. Mr. Jones was thrown from his buggy, thu vehicle overturning upon him, and was rendered uncon scious for some time. He fell upon his face and shoulder, and when found two hours thereafter was still in an almost unconscious condition.
