Spot prices were not mo lested. New Orleans opened 4 points off and closed 5 to 6 points above the final for Tuesday. Spot quotations were unchanged. Liverpool opened quiet and steady 7 1-2 to 10 points lower, which was better than due. The close was steady 6 to 9 points net lower for the day. Spot prices were reduced 9 points at which price tfiere were sales of 10,000 bales. The receipts at ports were 60,000 bales, of which New Or leans got 17,890. The estimate for today gives Houston 7,000 against 19,331 last year, and New Orleans 16,- 000 against 17,956. In the local market cotton was In good demand during the day on the basis of 10 1-4 cents for good mid dling, which was the quotation for the day before. Sales were alBO re ported od a slightly higher basis for choice lots. The demand prevailed until closing time. Quotations are unchanged from Tuesday. U.— (Special)—That the feelings engen dered by the civil war are softening among those who wore the grey was again evidenced by the action of the General Reunion Committee of the Confederate Veterans In Invit ing the Alabama G. A. R's to take part in the parade on November 14 and also to attend the business session. The following was the resolution on the matter, as adopted: "Resolved, That the members of the Montgomery Post, Grand Army of the Republic, and other members of the Grand Army of the Republic residing in Alabama, be Invited to attend the business sessions of the coming sev enth annual reunion of the United Confederate Veterans at Montgomery, Ala., November 13, 1907, and that they also be Invited to take part In the parade of the U. C. V. and U. S. V. on Nobember 14. Resolved, further, That the Secre tary of the General Reunion Commit tee, be instructed to formally extend the'lnvltatlon above Indicated." LETTER TO A. W. Thetemporar y exclusion of the girls has made places for a number of additional boys. Sumter county boys are wanted and application should be made at once.
