Worth of Salvage Merchandise Saved From the Big Fire
In Birmingham Has Arrived.
The Consolidated Salvage and Sales Co. closed this big deal for me with the Fire Insurance Co., which
is part of the stock saved from the big fire of the R. Blumberg wholesale dry goods house at Birmingham
Notice.
This big stock of fine Salvage dry goods, clothing,
shoes, ladies’ ready-made garments, ladies’ and gents’
furnishing goods has been purchased for me at such
low prices that I can nearly give you three dollars’
worth of merchandise for one dollar and
make living profit. Come early and see for
yourself.
ATTENTION!
This is no fake or scheme to raise
money, but a Bonafide Fire Sale The
flood gates of Low prices will be thrown
wide open and stay open only until the
Fire Salvage goods are sold.
O 1 r> £ 11 Remember my stock of merchandise which 1 purchased this fall is no Salvage^ Fire Goods and will not be sold like the $9,040.00 Salvage Fire Goods, but I
Kead Carefully, have out in the knife and cut the prices so deep in mynew goods that they will be nearly just as cheap as the Fire prices quoted.
The most attractive feature is the prices made to dispose of these Salvage goods, not quick but quickly.
Probably never before and never again will such an opportunity be placed before your people.

AGAIN THE BURGLAR IS | BANKS OF AMERIGUS I tf
BUSY IN AMERICUS BEST OF CONDITION
Another Store is Robbed Paying Good Dividends as
Here. j. Usual.
(
The third mysterious burglary com-1
mlttcd in Amerlcus within the week
was discovered Monday morning when
the hardware store of J. W. Harris &
Co., was opened for business. For
the burglar bold had been there
the night previous. 1
As In the other burglaries here, ’
he came the window route. |
At the rear of the store a window:
had bean prised open, and through
this the sleek rascal, evidently the
same one busy here recently, enter
ed and proceeded to help himself.
As In the case of the Doddon
Pharmacy and the Sheffield-Hunting- 1
ton Co., money only was wanted. i
The cash register was opened and
the contents, probably only a dollar
or two, was stolen. The burglar had
evidently spent all ot his stealings
of the previous robberies, as at the
Harris store, he stole even the few
pennies found In the cash register. |
But times are tight, and any kind
of money goes now. I
And the handful of coppers foufid
In the till are doubtless circulating
quite freely herd now. >
If the burglar took any articles
from the shelves or showcases the!
fact was not discovered, the Messrs.;
Harris said yesterday. But ln such
a large and varied stock of fine cut- _
lery and hardware, It would be next
to Impossible to detect a loss.
The burglar might have filled his
pockets with knives, scissors, razors
or other'small articles that scarcely
would have been misBed. I
These oft-repeated burglaries, and
the ease with which they arc commit-
ted. causes no little uneasiness. |
• Not tho slightest clue has been
obtained in cither of the raids made
recently . Tho fact that all the stores
are entered ln the samo manner, and
apparently only money stolen. Indi
cates that all three robberies were
committed by the same party.
With only two poiiiemen doing
duty at the time the bt.rglar can
easily spot them and ge, In his work
without fear of detection.
Three of the four Amerlcus banks
have recently held their annual meet
ings, declared good dividends and
elected officers for the current year,
and the condition of all reflects the
careful and conservative, yet liberal
policy of their officers.
The Amerlcus National, the Bank
of Commerce and the Bank of South
Western Georgia have held meetings
ln the order named. The Planters
Bank has Its annual meeting In Feb
ruary.
And the Planters, like the others,
will make a most gratifying exhibi
tion ot business for the year just
ended.
The Amerlcus National, at the re
cent meeting, declared the usual semi
annual dividend of 6 per cent upon
Its capital stock of $100,000 and
re-elected the same officers. Presi
dent Lowrey, Cashier M. M. Lowrey,

satisfactory condition than at pres
ent. Each carries a very large de
posit account, and all have enjoyed
during the past business year a sea
son of the greatest prosperity.
