ALBANY, GA., Feb. 7.—(Special)—
At a special meeting of Camp William
M. Slaughter, United Confederate Vet
erans. yesterday, resolutions were
sdopted endorsing In strong terms the
movement of Georgia Daughters of
the Confederacy for the erection of a
monument to Major Wlrz.
The resolutions contained an ex
pression of conviction on the part of
the members of Camp Slaughter that
the memorial should be erected at
Amertcus rather than at Andprson-
ville and that every camp of veterans
in the state should be represented at
the unveiling.
The hope is also expressed that the
inscriptions on the monument shall
be written in the interest of ’ the
truth and justice rather than for the
purpose of avoiding possible offense
to other sections of the country.
