\ FAIR TRIAL SOON PROVES
ITS EFFICIENCY.
Was the famous, the mysterious
unopened letter sent by "Little Joe”
Brown to Governor Hoke Smith, which
resulted in the latter discharging the
former as railroad commissioner, the
resignation of "Little Joe" as rail
road commissioner?
“It’s the one big laugh of the
whole situation,” said a prominent
politican Tuesday morning.
“ ‘Little Joe’ sent Hoke his resign*
tlon In a sealed envelope marked per
sonal and confidential, and Hoke,
thinking it was. something awfully
bad, fired him. Then 'Little Joe’ ran
for governor and got elected. The
big Joke, of course, was that ‘Little
Joe’ got fired for resigning.”
The politican believed this strong

“Why,” asked the reporter, "did
‘Little Joe,’ say that the inclosed was
a card he might have written?"
“Easy pickings, w answered the
wise" politician. “Because it did
contain a card, telling Hoke what
"Little Joe" thought of him and ten
dering his resignation, because he
didn’t want to serve under him.”
And then, the politician certainly
smiled broadly.
For years we have
sold this popular rem
edy and its remarkable
sale today is a striking
proof of its merit.

“‘Look here, Joe, he said, you
can trust me and my curiosity has
the best of me.’”
’“Little Joe’ held his head down a
minute, and when he looked up hlB
eyes were twinkling and his face
wreathed In smiles. The great hum
or of the situation appealed to him.
•“I’ll tell you something, said the
next governor to the last governor,

would shake with laughter. It would
be so funby now.’
"Now, what did I' tell you. He
got fired for resigning. That’s what
Joe Terrell believes, too.”
