Reports of Charges.
Advices from Atlanta on Tuesday
were »o the effect that a sensation
was brewing for the meeting In Am-
ericua of the Presiding Elders of the
five Georgia dioceses of the African
Methodist church, was began in this
city yesterday.
The tip was that Bishop Charles
Spencer Smith, who baa the whole of
Georgia under his jurisdiction, would
have charges brought against him,
which would be heard at this confei'-
ence.
It Is a little dlfBcult to get at the
exact complaints against Bishop
Smith. One statement was to the
effect that the trouble started when
Bishop Smith so consolidated and
manipulated the stations to be filled
The military feature introduced at
the Third District Agricultural Col
lege Id Amerlcus Is proving highly
popular among the students, and a
well organized company of thirty ca
dets Is the result of the effort start
ed there a few days ago.
Already the company has e|ectcd
officers and 'ordered full equipment
of guns and uniforms.
A representative of the Pettlbone
Manfg Co., visited the college yester
day, taking measures for uniforms,
swords and other equipment that will
he required.
The uniforms will be of regulation
standard of the National Guard, and
will be delivered In about fifteen
days. Rifles will be secured for the
comjiany, and the cadets will be as
well equipped as any command in
service.
