Smlhvllle, Ga., Nov. 10.—A party

o clock dinner Friday night at the
McAfee hotel, the occasion , a beauti
ful one, hi compliment to the young
ladles.
The Intel parlors were halidsomely
decoratel in palms and ferns, and in
the dlnligroom pink was the color
prevailing in artistic taste. The table
centerpiece was a tall vase lllled with
lovely pink roses, and the hand-palm
ed place cards w*ere autumn leaves
the dainty work of Miss Margaret Bur
ton. Those present were: Misses
Nettle Burton, Ethel Bomar, Mary and
Alice Ansley, Margaret Burton. and
her guest, Lula Matthews, and Nell
McKeuney; Messrs. Clyde McKenney,
Ernest Simpson, H. K. Sealy, Nlm
mons McMlchael. Will Randall and
J. M. Bruner.
Miss Edna Booker entertained with
spending a few days pleasantly at the
delightful hospitality the Embroidery
home of Capt. and Mrs. J. P. Beaty.
Miss Sallle Thornton, who has been
in Buena Vista for some time, Is with

Mr. A. H. Hartsfleld, of Weston, was

riage of Miss Bertha OriOn and Mr.
Warren Turlington Sunday won quite
» surprise to their many friends. They
were married by Rev. Mr. McMahan
in the presence of a few friends and
relatives, and left Sunday afternoon
(or their future borne in Byromville.

Plains, Ga, Nov. 10.—On Thursday
evening Mr. Pieman Dodson compli
mented Misses Lula and Lynda Mathis,
of Americus, with a delightful party.
The pretty Dodson home was taste
fully decorated with cut flowers aud
palms. Informal games were ployed,
and during the evening a delldons
fruit salad was served. Mr. Dodson Is
a genial and hospitable host, and his
guests were quite enthusiastic over
the pleasant occasion.
Plains Chapter, No. Ilf. Order of the
Eastern 8tar, held a meeting Monday
afternoon, which was not only Inter
esting hut profitable. There was pres
ent at the meeting. Mrs. Senle Hub-
hard, of Macon, the Worthy Grand
Mntron of the Grand Chapter of Geor
gia. It is quite a treat and honor to
any subordinate chapter to have this
Grand Ofllcer visit them, and the
Plains Chapter highly appreciates the
instructions and the wise counsel giv
en by this Grand Officer.
