Americns Will Soon Have Excellent Road Westward to Buena Vista, the Capital of Our sister County, From Americus to Buena Vista, the pretty little capital city of Marion county, twenty-six miles away, theie will soon be constructed another good road which will facilitate travel be tween the two county capitals and en hance realty values along the way, as has been done In Sumter. Marlon's itlzens are alive to the necessity 'of good roads, and one of the first to be constructed will he lu the direction of Americus. Start on Monday. The Marlon county chaingang w come to the Marion-Su inter line early Monday morning 1'iext and begin rood building near the McGarrah planta tion, working back in the direction Buena Vista. The distance is about twelve miles, and the road will traverse a fine farm ing section. At the Marlon-Sumter line It will connect with the Friendship road, leading out of Americus, and thus form a continuous highway to Buena Vista This Is the road generally known the "Godwin Road,” six miles of whlci constitute the finest road In the countv From the E. h. Bell* farm, five and a half miles out from Americus, the Friendship road needs work to the point at which it will intersect the Marlon road. Only Mne Miles to Fix. The distance Is probably nine miles end while the road is In fairly pas able condition for heavy loads, doe3 not compare with many of the fine highways in Sumter. However, this link of nine miles can rapidly be worked out ere long by the county forces. When this Is done ,a fine road twenty-six miles, -Amerlcua to Buena Vista, will be added to the network of good roads here.
