Kicker, of the Third district, that they would Le recommended for appointment, a*ul such recommendation, without doubt, will be confirmed. Stallings, on Taylor street was conducted on Sunday afternoon from the First Baptist church, of which the deceased was long a m;nibc \ The pallbearers- were Messrs. S. Bolton, C. LAnsley, Arthur Ry lander, T. F. Gatewood. E. A. I.ock-It and Fred B. Arthur. The announcement yesterday morn, ing of the death of Mr. Windsor was a shock to his many friends In city and county, as only a short time previou he-had appeared In his usual health and his Illness of one day was unknown to many. He was stricken by Illness Friday morning and survived but a few hours dying at 8 p. in. Mr. XX'lndsor was widely known throughout this city and section where he had resided since the cloie of the civil war, through which tie served He had almost reached the allotted "three score years and ten," and was held in high esteem among a wide circle of friends here. He is survived by four daughters Mrs. W. H. Richardson and Mrs. K R. Robinson, of Smithville; Mrs. S, C. Stallings and Miss Bessie XX’lndsor of Americus, and three brothers and five sisters. XVOHACK AFTER A BRIEF ILLNESS Young Conductor on Sealioard Passes Away Here. Mr. John XX*. XX’otnack died at an early hour Friday morning at his home on Furlow street, the end fol lowing an Illness of probably two weeks, and contracted elsewhere. Mr. XVomaek was a conductor on the Seaboard railway, and held In highest est.em among the hundreds of friends In Americus and along the line. Some time since he contracted a severe cn«» of varllold. and. despite careful nursing and attention, succumbed to the effects of tho dread malady. Mr. XX’omaek was In tho prime nnd vigor of young manhood, being about 27 years of age. and V- death Is pe culiarly sad. A stricken wife and two llttlo children survive him. The funeral, privately conducted, was held here yesterday. Eleven Confederate veterans and one widow of a veteran have passed away in Sumter within the past twelve months, according to the pen sion rolls In the office of Judge John A. Cobb.
