Ottera of canned peaches, packed In

large number of cases of their output
with) tho handlers of canned goods.
Tbo broker Immediately got busy, put
himself In telegraphic communlcat'on
with dealers throughout the country
quoting them prices on the Americus
pack.
Orders begau to come In and It look
ed as though there would be some
mlgU'y lively trading In the Americus
canned peaches, which have already
made a flno reputation for themselves
in tho great markets.
Just at this po'nt the frosts came all
over the state, and it became problem'
a'leal as to what damage bad been
done. Then there were the reports of
the wiping out of the fruit crops of the
West. All this tended to make Georgia
peaches look something like diamonds
. gold nuggets.
Instructions were wired the broket
to call In all propositions. No more
sales were to be made until a
basis of values was ol ta'nable.
Tho general impression Is that Geor
gla peaches are going to bring line
prices this year.
It Is understood that Messrs. Rob

crop of one or two of tho smaller orch
ards near Americus and had a line on
some other supplies when the weather
began :o get in Its work all over the
country. Fortunately the fruit around
here has not been hurt and they will
doubtless ho able to get substantial
suppl es this summer.
