THE AMERICUS WEEKLY TlMES-RECORDER. THURSDAY. MORNINGMAY 12. 1910. CUBES BLOOD POISON COLLEGE BRASS BAND IS A GKEAf SUCCESS Every symptom of Contagious Blood Poison suggests ndeeplypoisonedconditionofthecirculation. No portion of the body is free from its contaminating influence, and Its blighting effects are even stamped on innoceut child hood if the ancestral blood is not rid of the infection, Contagious Blood Poison begins iu an insignificant manner, usually the appearance of a tiny pimple or sore being the only outward evidence of its presence. But down deep in the blood the treacherous virus is at work and in a short time the victim finds himself aHected from head to foot. The mouth and throat ulcerate, skin erup tions break out, sores and ulcers appear on the body, yel low splotches disfigure the skin, the glands of the groin Swell, and often the hair and eyebrows come out. The only possible way to cure Contagions Blood •Poison is to remove the cause from the blood. Mercury, Potash, etc,, are often used with the idea that such strong treatment will kill the »rr" !S and thus produce a cure; but this is a mistaken idea—THE GERMS CANNOT BE KILLED; THEY MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE CIRCULATION. I was afflicted with a terrible blood disease, which was in spots at first, but afterward# spread imagine the sufforing I endured. Before I became convinced that the doctors could do me no good I had spent a hundred dollars, which was really thrown away. Ithontried various patent medi cines, but they did not reaoh the disease. When I had flnishod my first few bottles of S. S. S. I was greatly improved, and was do- lighted with the result. I regained my lost weight, became stronger and my appetite greatly im proved. T was soon entirely well, aad my skin as clear as a piece of glass. H. L. Meyers. 58 Clinton St., Nowurk. N. J. It goes into the circulation and REMOVES every trace of the poison, makes the blood pure and healthy, and leaves no dregs of the trouble, to break out later on, or to be transmitted to inno cent offspring. S. S. S. is made en tirely of roots, herbs and barks, each of which has a direct and specific ef fect in purifying the blood. S. S. It was less than two months ago when Mr. II. C. Witt, musical direc tor, took hold of the raw material out at the college and began to form it into a band. It was two weeks later before the instruments arrived. They were ordered by Supt. Collum and were a gift by him to the col lege for band purposes. Immediately oa their arrival tho work of training the boys in use began. It was remarkable, the avidity with which the boys took to the music il course outlined for them, and the tai. Mr. G. li. Waddell, the pushing real estate man, is preparing for an active poisor.al campaign iu South Carolina, looking to tne bringing of a number x-f farn.eis from that state to Sum ter county rn a tour of inspection of the '■■mnrj hereabouts that will in aii probability result in a number of ti.eni purchasing land and becoming actual settlers and home makers near Americas. Mr. Waddell for some time past has been carrying on an extensive corres pondence with the farmers in a half dozen localities In Carolina. Ho has succeeded in interesting a laj'ge num ber of them through his reports of what lias been done in'’tire past, is now doing, and may be expected here after in Sumter county. Every bit of the’rl informati °n he could secure has been sent to them, the last stuff forwarded being the little slips issued by the Board of Trade. Now Mr. Waddell has decided to MOTHER’S FRIEND A LINIMENT FOR EXTERNAL USE. The music furnished was regarded as exceptional for boysdyho six weeks ago had never handled a brass instrument and knew practically nothing about music ;>f any character. As now composed the band Is made up as follows: Solo Cornets—H. J. Pranee. J. W. Spires, H. W. Rainey. First Cornet—E. L. Croxton. Altos—M. G. Boland, W. H. Rat liff. H. Pass. Ba ritone—F. It Is understood that all, or prac tically all, of the present members of the band will continue their stu dies at the college the coming fall and winter. At that time the number of Instruments will be increased to twen ty-flve. In addition an orchestra will be formed at the college. The college boys will then be in position to furnish music for all occasions In this vicinity. The Third District Agricultural Col lege Is now recognized as leading all of the agricultural colleges In Georgia in the thoroughness of Its work in the several departments and in the varie ty of its life for the boys. The mil itary feature has been a pronounced success and is doing much to give the boys a correct physical bearing. The band and orchestra will do much to cultivate a love for music In the boys, will add much to the pleasures of school life to them, and will be a de cided drawing card for tho institution. Next fail It will be. In all likelihood, an utter impossibility to house all of the applicants for admission to the school. ('oiuimindi-r Julius A. Pratt Post Xo. 113, Dept. III., G. A. H. Mr. Isaac Cook, commander of above Post, Kewanee, HI., writes: “For a long time I was bothered with back ache and pains across my kidneys. About two months ago I started tak ing Foley’s Kidney Pills and soon saw they wore doing Just as claimed. I kept on tdking them and the painful bladder misery Is all gone. I like Foley Kidney Pills so well that I have told many of my friends and comrades about them and shall recommend them at every opportunity.” John R. Hud son. telling them of the land of milk and honey that exists for twenty miles around Americus. Mr. Waddell will leave the city to ward the end of the month and will devote a fortnight or longer to the trip into Carolina. He will meet and discuss the Sumter county proposi tion with a hundred or more high grade farmers. With' him he will car ry several hundred copies of the pam phlet of tho Board of Trade now has in press, and will place them in tho hands of farmers who are likely feel an interest and to give serious consideration to the matter of a re- moval to Georgia. Mr. Waddell expects to pursuo this plan definitely hereafter. Each year he will get Into touch with a number of farmers and after a certain period of mail communication will call on them personally and arrange with' those who are sufficiently interested for a trip to Sumter county. It has been suggested, and tho sug gestion seems a good one, that tho Board of Trade might well co-opera.e with Air. Waddell In the work this summer by arranging for a South Carolina day, advertise the fact, and prepare for the reception and enter tainment and the showing of the county to all home seekers from that state. Tbe creamery property here is to be sold at public outcry on the first Tuesday In June next, and It is hoped that very soon thereafter this now enterprise will be upon a working basis once again. Because tho man agement could not secure nearly the amount of milk required to keep the Plant in operation, It was closed down temporarily, though every pound of the fine butter made there was read ily taken by Americus merchants for the local trade. It is deemed best to re-adjust the affair* of the company by a sale of the property, thAis per fecting title and putting it upon t solid basis, hence the sale, as adver tised, is really in the interest of the corporation. The plant cost about *6,- 000, while the total indebtedness upon it to probably *1,200, or thereabout. The enterprise, as fully demonstrated, will pay handsomely here.
