THE AMERICUS WEEKLY TIMES-RECORDER. THURSDAY. MORNING MAY 19. 1910. OLDEST ft BEST •BLOOD PURIFIED SEE GREAT VALLE IN IT 10 SlIM.tK. HE VOTING TO CLOSE IN JUST TWO WEEKS Time is the supreme test of all things, and the very lest recommendation of S. S. S. is that it has stood a long test and is now oftener used, and has the confidence of a greater number of people than any other blood medicine. The blood is the vital force of life; thehealth-preserv- ing element and motive power of the system. Every or gan, nerve, muscle, tissue and sinew of the body is de pendent directly on the blood for nourishment and strength. As itcirculates through the system, pure and rich, it furnishes to these different members the health ful properties needed to sustain and enable them to per form their various duties. So long as the blood remains free from infection we are apt to be healthy, but any im purity, humor or poison in the circulation affects some portion of the general health. t Bad blood may come from various causes, such as sluggish condition of the system, imperfect bowel and kidney action, indigestion, etc., or the trouble may be inherited, but whatever the source the blood must be puri fied before the body can be healthy. Pustular eruptions, pimples, rashes, and the various skin affections show that the blood is in a feverish condition as the result of some humor, or the presence of an irritating, fiery acid. Rheumatism comes from an excess of uric acid in the circulation, while Ca tarrh, Sores and Ulcers, Scrofula, and Contagious Blood Poison, are all deep seated brood disorders. S. S. S. is a natural blood purifier and tonic. If is made entirely of the juices and extracts of roots, herbs and barks of recognized curative ability, and being free from all harmful min erals is an absolutely safe medicine for young or old. S. S. S. goes into the circulation and removes every trace of impurity, humor or poison. It freshens and enriches the blood and cures promptly and permanently Rheumatism, Catarrh, Scrofula, Sores, and Ulcers, Skin Diseases, Contagious Blood Poison, and all other blood dis orders. S. S. S. is the most reliable medicine for those whose blood has be come weak and who aresuffering from Anaemia, Malaria or other debilitating trenM^lool^urtli^loo^ree^TI^WiFi^pEciFiC^O^TLANTA^JA. Trip to Tybee is the Incentive. BUILDS UP THE HEALTH. I have used 8. S. S. quite exten sively* and know it to be the best of blood purifiers. It is vegetable, as you claim, and does not injure the system in the least, but on the contra builds up the general Health while ridding the blood of all poisons and Impurities. I feel better in every way since taking your medicine, and am firm in the opinion that it is all you claim for it in the cure of blood troubles. G. K. Hess. 716 Willow 8t. y Lebenon, Penn. WOOD, 213 Forsyth St. The great auto run about the sia' circling Georgia over or.t thousand miles of road, and passing through Sumter county, has attracted more at tention locally than any event n the world of autoing since niacitCnes be came popular here and the purchase of them began on a wholesale scale. "While I will not enter a machine and personally would nut cate to un dertake the long ride over the s ate," said Chairman Sheffield, of the coun ty commissioners, "I can appreciate the great value of the proposed con test to the state as a whole. While the good road3 movement is not lan-j guishing, there are still a number of counties in which it needs stimulating to the end that there may be event ually complete systems of fine high ways throughout the state. As it now a county here and a county there lias fine roads, but an intervening county too often has miserable roads, breaking the- continuity of travel. Once we can do away with this, have the various > county good roads sys tems comocled up, I believe that Geor gia will bs the mecca of thou sands I of people from the X'c: : i ard | every while:*, people of means eag-trj to see the state, will ag to spend their: money fre-ly it; doing no, and I; .;.*.- to have their interest so arc ted that they will bern-w' regular winter visi tors, and pe.-a... : some of 11 L t:tt msv become ir—?*->rs. Has Great .'.d'f rtlslng Value. “I fully appreciate the great adver ting value of this contest to Sumter count,” continued Chairman Shef field. “Every car that starts on the run, from perhaps thirty or forty cities or towns will come to Americus and will pass over the good roads of Sumter In going through the county. This county will take front rank In counties t aveled that have fine highways. They will carry the news to their home counties and wherever they go. I really believe the value to our county from the contest, in this way will be Immeasurable. I will certainly watch the development of the preliminary arrangements with the greatest of Interest and will do all that lies in my power to stimulate and ass st it. I believe the interest will grow and It would not be sur prising If there were hundreds of cars starting at the same hour in this tour of the state.” ..Sumter Con Win Prize. President Frank Lanier, of the Americus Automobile Club, I 3 another one who sees the Importance of the road contest next October. Like Chairman Sheffield, he sees the great advertising value for Georgia and for Sumter county. “I believe we can easily carry off a prize." said he yes terday in discussing the coming event. "With our magnificent Smithville road which can be given any attention needed Just before the event, and with the Oglethorpe road fixed in time for the tour, I veritably feel convinc ed that a roqd prize is already as good given to Sumter county. We must see to it that this is the case. I can. not think of anything that would do more Just now, .when so muchi atten tlon is centered on this subject of good roads, than to have It go out all over the country, in the newspapers and the various Journals given up in whole or in part to automobiling, that Sumter county won the prize, as hav ing the finest roads traversed In the entire western half of Georgia, even In the entire state, for we can make these roads the best wlthi little trouble and expense. Tens of thous ands would recognize in that fact that Sumter county was a county of en terprise and progress and such a rep utation Is worth an enormous sum to a county.” Others talk in a similar strain. The auto fever here is apt to grow more Intense right along through the sum mer and Americus will be very apt to have several cars entered for the great fail event. Miss Bessie Harris 9,TOO Miss Jennie Harrison ’ 9.151 Miss Ella Mauk 7,«31 Thus tauds the three fair conte ants In the spirited race for the two prizes offered by the Times-Recorder to the two most popular ladles in Sumter county—the first a round trip to Xew York, with all expenses paid, and the second prize a week at Ty bee. Both trips will he rendered most en joyable, and the contest is eagerly waged by the ladies and their many good friends. It has been in progress now for more than a month, and thousands and tens of thousands of coupons liavc> been clipped from the Daily and Weekly editions of the Times-Re corder and either held in reserve or voted for the contestants. Only two weeks remain, as the con test ends .May 31st and then will it be known which of the contestants will go away as guests of the Times- Re corder. A LINIMENT FOR EXTERNAL USE.
