Littlejohn convened the May session of Sumter Superior court Monday morning and during the next week or ten days tho wheels of jujs. tice will whirl within the temple, al though bott> the civil and criminal dockets appear lighter at this term than In several years. The grand Jury was organized by electing Mr. F. AV. Griffin foreman, af ter which Judge Littlejohn charged that body. The charge was direct and forceful as are all delivered by Judge Little john, and covered the many viola tions of law occuring here. The court dwelt with partlcual emphasis on a' fepcatci recent cock light here. The grand Jury Is made up of the following twenty-three citizens: F. W. Griffin, W. D. Haynes, W. I». Page, J. E. Gyles, W. A. AVebb, G. Buchanan, J. L. Wooten, W. R. Battle, G. S. Gardner, G. A. Harper, C. U, Williams, W. M. McGarrah, S. A. Rod gers, L. M. Hawkins, S. M. Gordy, W. D. Bailey, C. C. Clay, J. H. Myers, G, W. Stallings, E. R. Stewart, C. C. Sheppard, C. C. Hawkins and C. A. Chambliss. Several indictments were returned during the d»y, three for murder. One of these was a bill against Charles Baldwin for the killing of another negro. Bill Riley, down near Cobb Station recently. , If weather and labor conditions were always ideal, there are several l on the market that could handle cotton and produce a fair sample. But icte. conditions arc the exception. Most of the cotton that comes to the ginnery i exceedingly dirty and trashy and much of it is wet The ordinary system nnno do anything with it It requires the exceptional system—the Mungcr System * *>} The Munger System thor- oughly cleans and dries the cotton before it delivers it to the feeders. The process of handling the cotton in the elevator, separator and dis tributor, in addition to remov ing all the trash and dirt, opens up and loosens the cotton, leaving it in the best possible condition for the gins to handle. It required but one day and a bait to dispose of tbe entire civil docket in Sumter Superior court—a rather remarkable record, indeed. At noon yesterday Judge Littlejohn dismissed all jurors drawn toj service this week and declared a recess until next Monday. At that time tho criminal docket will be taken up and all felony .cases ready for trial disposed of dur ing the ensuing weok. There aro three or four negro murder cases ajiil few Involving the title of sundry hogs surreptlously seized by the sable citizens since sidetracked at the coun ty castle. .The grand Jury Is still busy this week, but It Is not Improb able that the May torm Will come to an end next week, thus making the sess’on of the court the shortest in In cases where the cotton is particularly dirty and trashy the operation of separating, cleaning and drying can be before delivery to the feeders. On this account the Munger System can handle cotton under any and ail conditions and is the only outfit which can. Munger 1 System Outfit alv System in a class by itself. Syst The iy itself.
