THEAMERICUSWEEKLY TIMES-RECORDER. THURSDAY. MORNING MAY26, 1910. CUBES •RHEUMATISM CLOSING OF SCHOOLS IS EVENT OF INTEREST. jBIG BUILDING IS SOLD 10 BANK OF COMMERCE Rheumatism is a specific bloorl fermentation, a souring of the circulation from an excess of uric acid accumulating in the blood stream. This uratic impurity comes usually as aresult of constipation, weak kidneys, indigestion and stom ach disturbances. Those systemic irregularities may not be of marked severity or of long duration, but each has a direct effect on the eliminative members of the body, which prevents tlie proper removal of life waste products. This refuse re mains in the stomach and bowels, aud souring forms uric acid, which the blood quickly absorbs. Rheumatism is usually manifested in the joints and muscles. It is here its sharpest twinges of pain are felt, and stiffening of ligaments and tendons first commence. The pain of Rheumatism is caused by the contact of the sensory 'jh nerves with the gritty, acrid formation which uric acid causes '- i '' to accumulate in the corpuscles of the blood about the joints. The stiff ening of muscles and joints is usual!” gradual. Constantly the blood deposits the uric acid into tlie joints, aud slowly the natural fluids are dried up and destroyed. Then Rheumatism becomes chronic and serious. Rheuma tism is sometimes inherited,, for likeail blood diseases it can be transmitted to offspring. This explains why some persons are afflicted with the disease, and suffer its pains, who have otherwise been perfectly healthy. S.S.S. cures Rheumatism and cures it permanently. It goes into the circu lation, and removes the uric acid, purifies the blood, and in this way destroys the cause. S. S. S. changes the blood from a sour, acid-steeped stream to a rich, healthy fluid, which quiets tlie excited nerves, eases the Crowds Witness the f xer= cises Here. Marble front on Forsyth Bought. "I congratulate you on having one of the most efficient and profitable agricultural and :> dustriat schools In Georgia, and in this 1 measure ruy v orris not wothout knowledge of what I am saying. You have, as I under stand, tsree essential departments: The agricultural, the mechanical and the domestic depa-tmems. Ani we have seen with our own eyes the ex cellent products of all of these. “We have seen liow the sail has been made to respond to skillful and intelligent cultivation;! we have seen how crude iron and steel and wood and other raw material has been skill fully wrought into useful Implements. And—above all—we have seen how the feminine band can govern and con trol the domestic affairs a'nd tame the niuley cow. "God bless them; may their ranks increase. "Here on th’s farm is a place for a sensible man of ambition to find him a model wife—and I may say that it is also the place for a sensible wo man, whether she llvs In th city or the country to find a model husband "But I only refer to the finished and matured productsk-not to :ne unfin ished products. "I see you have a military compa ny. Well, that's good for the hoy and good for the farm. Order—obed'enoe, personal cleanness and self-respect are heav-n’s first laws. It strengthens the body, mind and heart; It makes the boy more manly. It gives strength and symmetry to Intellect and moral forces. "The sword commands the plow, hammer and spade. The soil must he captured before It can be cultivated. TMs was obvious In primitive times. We need have no fears of overcrowd ing the farmer or the mechan'c In Georgia’s undeveloped fields and her waste places. We are still in the woods, and Georgia has only devel oped in spotsi Especially Is this true from a rural, agricultural and educa. tional standpoint. "Georgia has 37,747.200 acres of arable land, of which only about one- fourth, or ten and a half million, are In cultivation—much of which Is poor ly and unskillfully cultivated. "We have ei.ough arable land to support the population - of France and I the German Empire. We have enough idle land in Georgia, untouched—if Commerce, which ere long will have quarters there. Tim sale 'of the postofflee building was a topic of interesting discussion among the few to whom the deal was made known. For several days past the transfer has been under consideration, and its final eonsuinmat on yesterday settles the interesting question as to what| disposition would eventually he made I of the old postoflice. j The Bank of Commerce now owns i and in time will establish headquar ters therein. The price paid for this valuable property was not announced for puD licat on, but goes up high in the thous ands, as might be supposed. The Bank of Commerce will make important changes upon the spacious Interior ere Us business is transferred there. The buildings or part of It at least was originally designed for bank >ng purposes, and with a large vault there already, the transfer can soon be made.
