Yours truly, IRA McDAVID, Railway Mall Service. Florence, 8. C„ May 31, 8ec'y. Beard of Trade, Amerlcua, Ga. I want to buy a small farm near Americas. I hope to visit your city soon. I have a large acquaintance ship In many states. If I like Sumter would seek to influence some of them to locate there also. Put me In touch with reliable real estate men of your city. ' Very respectfully, G. L. EMMONS. I Commission Man Wants the Entire Output. Of Orchard Men Near Americus—Offer of $1.25 Per Crate. One dollar and twenty-five centi cate for the entire crop of peaches growing upon two hundred thousand trees in the great Bagley-Ray orchard near Americus was the highly flatter- lug offer made here yesterday by New York commission man—and re fused . . It looked good all right—$1.25 per crate, but the possibility of $3 p;r crate looks even better to the or chard owners. Ordinarily the shippers here are sat isfied with a net profit of fifty cents per crate, after deducting all penses, but peaches are peaches this year, and the demand will .quickly ab sorb the supply In this part of Geor gia. Here the crop Is large and Its con dition fine, while In North Georgia the yield will be short, due to the late April freeze. The Bagley-Ray orchard sold many crates of fine peaches of the early Greensborough variety In Americus yesterday at the fine price of $1.75 perorate, while probably fifty crates were shipped north by express. The first whole carload will be shipped Monday. At the other orchards 'here, the Raymond-Ware, Waddell and Hans ford, the fruit Is equally fine and promising.
