Atlanta,' Ga., June 4.—Governor Jo
seph M. Brown has announced his
candidacy for re-election as gorernor.
He issued the following statement this
afternoon:

Ponder Spring?, Ga., June 6.—South
era Rill way passenger train No. 13,
from Jacksonville, Fla., to Chicago,
scheduled to leave Atlanta at 5:30
o'clock this morning, was derailed al
most in front of the Powder Springs
depot shortly after 7 o'clock, the mail,
baggage and pasenger coaches leaving
the track.
The engine remained on the ralle,
although the tvaln was running at
rate of 85 miles an hour, and there
was‘no injuries sustained \y either
passengers or crew.
While the cause of the derailment
Is not officially known, It Is bettered
to have been caused by the ralla
spreading.
