The handsome Thornton Wheatley residence, among the stateliest old mans ons In Amerlcus, was sold yes terday to Hon. T. M. Lowery, a weal thy citizen and mayor of Seneca, S. C, who will come to Amerlcus at an early date to reside. Quite recently, Mr. Lowery paid |2.>,000 for the Oliver plantation, west of Amerlcus, and so highly pleased Is he with this city and vicinity that he immediately decided to quit Carol'na and come to Amerlcus to reside per manently. The beautiful old Wheatley home appealed to his artistic taste, and the purchase was effected yester day through Mr. P. B. Williford, real estate dealer. J. U. Williamson, chairman of Schley County's Qood Roads Club, assured Mr. Weldon that his county will ghe us a good link.
