HE AFRICAN HUNTER GREETED BY THOUSANDS | .(Special to Timca-Recorder.) f New York, June 17.—Theodore Ylcoserelt came borne today. He was -•given an enthusiastic reception, with vtaning guns and cheers, both on land and water. An imposing parade and marine display marked the home- coming of the former president. Immediately opon lading. Col. Roosevelt delivered an address in which he pledged himself to put_b!s shoulder to the wheel to help solve the problems that now confront the na tion. Theodore Roosevelt today refused to take ad vantage of his position as special am bassador to the funeral of King Ed ward, which would have allowed b n to bring in his baggage tree of duty. He made his declarations to the cus toms olficers like any .other citizen, and arranged to send a check for the duty on bis possessions as soon as ths bill is rendered. As .an aid to the customs agents, Col.
