Any one could go to the ordinary and take out a marriage license. The names might be flotltious—such things have been known—and at this heat the license conveyed little Information, be ing merely a statement that any per son authorized by Jaw could marry the parties whose names were men tioned In the license. Inasmuch as I; is not an uncommon thing for two or more persons In a community to have the same name, it Is not surprising that in after years It Mas been diffi cult to locate exactly who the parties married were. In one bigamy suit It was Impossible to obtain a conviction because It was found that there were several parties of the same name In the county, and that marriage licenses bad been lasued to more than one of them in a abort apace of time.
