•The best roads in Georgia," declar
ed Frank Weldon, of the pachlinding
partly in Amerieus recently. "The
best roads between Bainbridge, Ga.
and' New York City,” declared Co!.
C. K. Aus'.ey, of Bainbridge, who
accompanied the pathfinders on the
trip from Atlanta to Amerieus.
Mr. Ausiey, who was completing an
automobile trip from New York to
Bainbridge at the time, paid Sumter'r
roads tile greatest compliment yet be
stowed.
The best in Georgia, declared the
pathfinders. The best on the Atlantic
seaboard, declared another, who had
recently seen the best.
Frank Weldon, of the Constitution,
is making a careful study of the roads
on his pathfinding tour now in prog
ress, se.toting the route for the grea
auto run in the fall, in which Amer-
icus cars will be entered among scores
of others.
Mr. Weldon thus summarizes condi
tions as he has jus: found them In
South Georgia. Observe his remarks
covering Sumter:

The other members of the Commis
sion are Hon. Warner Hill, a lawye-,
of Greenville, and Judge Hillyer, a
lawyer, of Atlanta.
With three lawyers already on the
Commission, esides their paid legal
adviser, it would certainly seem that
the legal fraternity is well enough
represented there ; and ought to allow
ti.ie farmers to have at least one rep
resentative on that important body.
The Raiiroad Commission means com
paratively little to a lawyer, except t >
give on eof the fraternity a good Job,
but to the farmers and merchants «t
the state one of their number serv
ing on the Commission means a safe
guarding of their interests from any
possibility of imiKositlon by the greeJ
of railroads.
The Standard favor* tbe re-election
of all three of the

capable gentlemen, well worthy of the

three none surpasses in usefulness
