Atlanta, Oa., September 10.—Acting
under authority conferred upon him
by law, Governor Brown li*a arranged
to borrow $100,000 for the purpose ot
meeting the current expenses of the
state. Tho money will be borrowed in
sums of $26,000.
The money will be secured from the
Fourth National Bank, the Atlanta
National Bank, the American National
Bank of'Atlanta, and tbn American
National Bank of Macon.
The governor Is authorised . under
the law to borrow $200,000 lor the
support of the state government, and
it has'beer, found hecessary to secure
a loan twenty days earlier tbit year
than was the case last year.
The money was necessary In order
to meet warrants Issued to various
state Institutions Friday to the amount
of $71,523.50, sa follows: State Uni
versity and its branches, $23,355; BllnJ
Asylum at Macon, $1,800; State San
itarium, $35,368.50.
