Parker, one of Sumter’s aged and esteemed residents, died Tuesday at his home here, the end following a very brief illness. Mr. Parker had bee na resident of Sumter for several years and no citi zen was held In higher esteem. A South Carolina gentleman of the old school, he made and retained strong friendships. Mr. Parker was 77 years of age, and Is survived by four sons and a daughter, among them Miss An na Parker and Mr. Roscoe Parker, of Aimerlcus. The remains (Will te carried today to his former home at Blshopvtlle, S. C., for the Interment beside that of his wife, who passed to her reward many years since. October 18.—A wireless message to the New York Times from Captain Roward, of the Rayol Mall steamer Trent, saya the Trent pick id up Walter Wellman and the crew of the airship America at 5 o'clock this morning, after the air vessel had been abandoned.
