ago, or thereabouts, the then Justice

“It seems to me very clear that

I have no right to be a candidate,
either openly or passively. I can

Mr. Hughes, evidently, goej upon the
theory that circumstances alter cases,

TIIE BEST IS NONE TOO GOOD.
“The best Is none too good for me"

should be kept constantly in mind un
til the habit has been formed of aim

Some people have an Idea that cheap

they are cheap.
Some people have an Idea that
cheap literature is good enough for
them, and going upon this theory they
fill their minds with trash, while In
the nearest libraries the volumes of
world's choicest literature In
pioee and v v -rse. gather dust for the
lack of use. Then we hear people say,
'We are fond of music” yet in the
same breath they utter, “rag time Is
good enough for me.” Thus they
cheapen their taste by listening to
some catchy composition when good
music is to be had at the same price.
Going a little further we hear people
say and act In effect. Second rate peo
ple are good enough for them to asso
ciate with, thus acecpting as comiwui-
lons the course, the brutal and un
principled, passing by those with clean
lives, lofty ambitions and aspirations.
Then let your motto be "The best
is none too good for me” Of course it is
understood here that It Isu't dream-!
When you see a farmer come to

uncertainty of the cotton market this
