ATLANTA. Ga., Oct. 23—If folk
who usually know something about
(tfleial ballots, politics, rules and reg
niations generally, are not wrong, the
c fficial Democratic ballot for the elec
tion on November 7th. in the state of
Georgia, is Incorrect and illegal, as it
relates to the presidential race and
something will have to be done im
mediately to correct the ballots and
furnish them to the several counties in
Georgia, in accordance with law, and
in time for the election in a few days.
Tiie "balled" ballot comes about by
having the names of the electors and
the alternates on the same ticket, op
posite each other. The alternate have
no standing on the ballot or in the
election of the president and vice presi
dent unless the elector be disqualified
T1 e ticket says "For Presidential Elec

twenty-eight names on the tlcket-
ternates are running against their *
electors. If the voter scratches seven
electors and seven alternates—he will
be voting for fourteen men. but the
alternates have no legal status.
One of the presidential electors lb
said to have caught the error and has
been in conference with Secretary Hi
