greatly augmented force of the enemy
to cope with.
If the farmers of this section will
hold their nerve and refuse to become
panic-stricken in the face of the infes
tation, Sumter county’s cotton crop,
although considerably reduced from
that of previous years, will be suffi
cient to bring a most satisfactory fi
nancial return.
