a shopper in our town Monday.
Miss Maggie Funk, of Augusta, is

L. S. Jackson is anticipating quite a
crowd at his hotel the coming summer
William Dyer, of McDuffie county, is
visiting relatives in this place.,
Several from here attended the session
of the county court this week as jurors.

So far the peach crop hasn’t been af¬
fected by the cold weather and if the
prospect continues as bright, there will
be a good many peaches shipped from
Sharon.
Mrs. James L. Moore returned home
Saturday, after spending several days
with relatives at Washington. Her sis¬
ter, Miss Susie Cordes, accompanied
her home.
It was mentioned in last week’s paper
that quarterly meeting would be held
at the Methodist church on Saturday
February 4th and Sunday the 5th. All
are cordially invited to attend on Satur¬
day. Dinner will be served on the
church grounds, the weather permitting.

Prof. Cone is a good teacher aud lias
some good rules. Some say they never

enacted, and think it a good one.
We have two very- smart ladies that
desire to run a newspaper. Can’t yon
give them a job, Mr. Editor? [We have

Mr. H. W. Meadows had sixteen bales

Rev. Albert II. Flynt, of Sharon, filled
his first appointment at Carter's Grove
Baptist church Saturday and Sunday.
While young in the ministerial profession
her sermons were replete with logical
terms, and made quite ai, impression
on the audience.
