The Stephens High School.
We really believe that the pat
roiiH of the Stephens High
School should congratulate
thetuselyes that Miss Smitit will
again have charge of the school
as principal. She has
horse]f an efficient instructor, an
untiring worker, and a fine dis
ciplinarian. She lias surrounded
herself with very cm rnpotent as¬
sistants, and the work of the en¬
tire faculty has been all
could he expected.

An Object Lesson.
The letters, which we pub¬
lished last week, regarding the
payment- of *1,000.00, by Mr. W.
L. Kendrick to Mrs. Lillie
Guiliebeau, of Norwood, showed
more than was apparent on the
•surface.
Mr. Kendrick approached the
iate Mr. Guiliebeau, about a year
ago and insisted upon him
| taking out some insurance upon
his life. Mr. Guiliebeau refused
. to even talk about it, but Mr.
; Kendrick, in that affable, but
intelligent and earnest manner,
so characteristic of him, fin¬
ally succeeded in getting Mr.
Guiliebeau to take $1,000.00 in
the Franklin, of Springfield,
111. In a few’ months’ thereaf¬
ter, Mr. Guiliebeau lay dead, and
today his widow and little chil¬
dren are the better off by $1,000.
In acknowledging receipt of
the money to Mr. Kendrick, she
said: “1 desire to thank you
personally for this money,
as you did the soliciting,
collected same for me without
one cent of cost. It is seldom one
finds a person so unselfish, as
you have proven to me and my
little children. 1 ’
Mr. Kendriak says it made
him feel like he had really done
so mething— and was glad that it
had come his way, in order to be
aide to do it.
Every man with, a family
should carry life insurance. See
Mr. Kendrick, at Sharon, and
get some.
